MnDOT Hwy. 169 and Hwy. 210 update
Aitkin Independent- 08/28/2024
An August Minnesota Department of Transportation update on the Aitkin to north of Hassman project said crews have replaced eight drainage structures beneath
the road. Three of them were box bridges. Only two remain—work on the box culvert bridge (pipe c) between Co. Rd. 12/83 and 390th St. began Aug. 23
and will take up to a week to complete. The final pipe is located near the Hwy. 169/210 Hassman intersection and will be completed during the upcoming
closure/detour.
DETOUR EXTENDS THROUGH PALISADE
Crews will close the Hassman intersection and begin to reconstruct the Hwy. 169 and 210 intersection after Labor Day weekend, Sept. 3. Motorists will continue to follow a detour
along Hwy. 210, McGregor, Co. Rd. 5 (Nature Ave.) Palisade and Co. Rd. 3 (480th St.), back to Hwy. 169 north of the Mississippi River through early October. Access will be open and
maintained to those who live, work or visit within the closed work zone. Expect changes to access, gravel or grooved road surfaces, flaggers, periodic stops and alternate one-way
traffic. Slow down, follow construction signs through the work zone and stay out of barricaded areas.
Those who travel through the work area should plan ahead and be prepared for delays, especially at peak travel times. Cabin and vacation travelers who normally take Hwy. 169/210 may
want to consider another route.
