Log Home Wood Fired Pizza wins national community award
Log Home Wood Fired Pizza is a runner-up in Tyson Foods Hillshire Farm brand nationwide Great Pizza Give Back contest 2025. The contest rewards pizza establishments
that give back to their communities in a variety of ways.
In the last few years, Log Home Wood Fired Pizza has supported local schools, community events and emergency services. This business has sponsored McGregor Area
Chamber of Commerce and community events throughout the area and provided meals for the Aitkin County Search and Rescue. Owners created a scholarship for McGregor
High School; established the Read at Home program for pre-school through sixth grade students for area schools; supported the kindergarten recipes unit by going into
school and demonstrating how to make pizzas, then letting them create their own; and provided pizzas for the school plays and band/choir school trip.
This local pizza shop has hosted trunk-or-treat and “Cookies with Santa.” “From encouraging kids to read with pizza rewards to supporting school events and performances,
this operator finds a wealth of ways to uplift their community. They even turned a student-created pizza contest into a scholarship fundraiser, giving back in
many ways that make a difference,” stated the Tyson Foods website for the 2025 Great Pizza Give Back winners.
“It’s our honor and pleasure to serve our local schools and organizations in a variety of ways,” said Rick Herman, Log Home Wood Fired Pizza CEO.
“This gives us the opportunity to give back to the community that has supported us over the years.”
