Mille Lacs Energy Cooperative Fiber announces major 2027 expansion along east side of Mille Lacs Lake

Mille Lacs Energy Cooperative (MLEC) has announced a significant fiber internet expansion project planned for 2027 that will bring fast, reliable broadband service to members
and businesses located along the east side of Mille Lacs Lake.
The project is expected to pass approximately 1,500 homes and businesses, including numerous resorts, campgrounds and RV parks throughout the area. Once completed,
residents, seasonal property owners and local businesses will have access to high-speed internet service from a local provider.
As demand for reliable connectivity continues to grow, MLEC Fiber is investing in the infrastructure needed to support work, education, entertainment and business operations
both today and in the future.
Construction is scheduled to begin in 2027, but MLEC is encouraging interested residents and businesses to sign up now to help with project planning and to guarantee
fiber service is extended to their location.
