Mille Lacs Energy Cooperative Fiber announces network expansion in Bay Lake and Hazelton townships
Mille Lacs Energy Cooperative (MLEC) has announced the expansion of its fiber network, with construction scheduled to begin this summer
in portions of Bay Lake Township in Crow Wing County and Hazelton Township in Aitkin County.
The project will bring high-speed internet access to additional homes and businesses in the region. MLEC Fiber brings fast, reliable broadband to
members, with additional options for phone service and streaming TV through a trusted partner, CTC—serving homes and businesses across the cooperative’s service area.
Residents in the build zones will have access to symmetrical speeds up to two gigabits per second (Gbps) once service becomes available.
As a cooperative, MLEC emphasizes local service, community investment and member-focused support, ensuring that broadband improvements
directly benefit the rural communities it serves.
Residents can learn more about the project, planned timelines and service options by visiting the cooperative’s website or contacting MLEC Fiber
directly.
MLEC is a not-for profit, electric distribution cooperative owned by its members, providing service to over 13,000 members in parts of Aitkin,
Crow Wing and Mille Lacs counties.
