DESCRIPTION:The Aitkin Women of Today (AWT) and the Aitkin Chamber of Commerce Retail Committee\, in cooperation with the Rialto Theatre\, are planning a free showing of the movie\, “Elf\,” on Saturday\, Dec. 2 at 11:15 a.m. \nThe movie is free for everyone with free popcorn and pop for kids ages 12 and under. \nPrior to the movie\, there will be a holiday bake sale\, also at the Rialto\, starting at 9 a.m. until sold out. Mr. and Mrs. Clause will be in attendance from 10-11 a.m. to visit with the children prior to the movie. Christmas handprint potholders will be available for sale with proceeds to benefit Operation Christmas. Children will be eligible for door prizes and will receive a small holiday gift upon leaving the movie. \nKick off the holiday season with Buddy\, the elf.

SUMMARY:Riverwood's Lights of Love Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:Since 1984\, the Riverwood Auxiliary has annually honored and memorialized the loved ones of area residents with the Lights of Love program\, including a Christmas tree lighting ceremony in the lobby of the hospital. \nNames of loved ones for whom lights have been purchased are listed on a scroll located in the hospital lobby and on the electronic scrolling marquee until the end of the year. It is on the Riverwood website year-round. \nLights that decorate the tree can be purchased for $5 in honor or in memory of a loved one. Envelopes are available at the front desk in the lobby of the hospital or the hospital gift shop. These can be used for light purchase or a form can be printed online at www.river woodhealthcare.org/aboutus/ volunteer. Money raised will be used to fund special projects at Riverwood and fulfill the Auxiliary’s ongoing commitment to the health and well being of the community. The holiday season is a great time to recognize loved ones\, coworkers\, friends or anyone who has made a difference in your life. \nThe lighting ceremony will be held on Sunday\, Nov. 19 at 1 p.m. in the hospital lobby. The public is invited to attend a short program\, including a musical selection and a reading of the scroll will take place. After the ceremony\, refreshments will be served.
