SUMMARY:Riverwood's Lights of Love Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:Since 1984\, the Riverwood Auxiliary has annually honored and memorialized the loved ones of area residents with the Lights of Love program\, including a Christmas tree lighting ceremony in the lobby of the hospital. \nNames of loved ones for whom lights have been purchased are listed on a scroll located in the hospital lobby and on the electronic scrolling marquee until the end of the year. It is on the Riverwood website year-round. \nLights that decorate the tree can be purchased for $5 in honor or in memory of a loved one. Envelopes are available at the front desk in the lobby of the hospital or the hospital gift shop. These can be used for light purchase or a form can be printed online at www.river woodhealthcare.org/aboutus/ volunteer. Money raised will be used to fund special projects at Riverwood and fulfill the Auxiliary’s ongoing commitment to the health and well being of the community. The holiday season is a great time to recognize loved ones\, coworkers\, friends or anyone who has made a difference in your life. \nThe lighting ceremony will be held on Sunday\, Nov. 19 at 1 p.m. in the hospital lobby. The public is invited to attend a short program\, including a musical selection and a reading of the scroll will take place. After the ceremony\, refreshments will be served.

DESCRIPTION:There’s no better way to kick off Fish House Friday than a brisk 5k! Run or walk the Fish House 5k on Friday\, November 24th in Downtown Aitkin. All ages and abilities are welcome. The course follows the City Walking Trail. After the race\, enjoy the Vintage Snowmobile Display\, Black Friday shopping\, and the famous Fish House Parade at 1pm.\n\nVisa gift cards will be awarded to the first and second place in the Men and Women Categories.\n\nYou can sign up the day of! All race shirts can be picked up on Black Friday (November 25) at The Ripple Center (301 Minnesota Ave N\, Aitkin MN – previously The Butler Building). Pick-up times are 9 am-Noon on race day.
